Learn about VA eBenefits Wednesday
Learn about VA eBenefits Wednesday
|
Veterans, this week I am in Salem attending my semi-annual training at
the Oregon Department of Veterans Affairs. This colum is shorter than
most, but I want to give you a heads-up on your chance to voice your
concerns and raise questions from our congressional office and the
Department of Veterans Affairs.
On Wednesday, staff from the Portland VA Regional office will be traveling with Cody Standiford, U.S. Rep. Greg Walden’s veterans adviser, to provide information on VA services to veterans. They will be conducting in-person authentications for veterans wishing to enroll in the VA’s eBenefits website, relieving veterans from a trip to Portland in order to enroll. We will meet from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the American Legion Hall in La Grande. This is an excellent chance for Union County veterans to connect with congressional/VA services personnel. To gain full access to eBenefits, veterans should bring with them any two forms of the following ID: • driver’s license • Social Security card • passport • birth certificate • DD214 • DOD identification card • VA identification card I will be there to introduce Dan Easlon, the county’s new veterans employment specialist from Worksource Oregon. I will be discussing VA and Oregon VA benefits as well as any changes to the law. All veterans from 18 to 98 are invited to attend.
