COMPOSER PRESENTS FILM
|
Composer Lee Johnson will present his film "Sand Floor Cathedral" Friday in Loso Hall Room 115 on the Eastern Oregon University campus. The composer will speak about the work at 7:30 p.m., and the film will be shown at 8. The screening will be free to students and $3 for the public. A donation will be made to Blue Mountain Humane Association. Johnson is an Emmy-award winning composer, conductor and performer whose works have been performed by the London Symphony. "Sand Floor Cathedral" is a film shot off the coast of the Dominican Republic by renowned photographer Donald Tipton. Johnson said the film was inspired by the adventures that he had at sea. They helped him understand the cathedral of the sea and propelled his desire to musically share these experiences with others. Johnson will be composer-in-residence at EOU, Thursday through Saturday, working with students in music and media arts. |
