Tiller's Folly and Nolan Murray fans can enjoy a holiday musical feast with "A Fine Kettle of Fish." The DVD/CD features the high-energy Canadian Northwest roots band live. And you'll see and hear more of La Grande string master Nolan Murray, who plays fiddle and mandolin and adds a few Northeast Oregon touches to the vocals. The DVD was filmed and recorded live Sept. 11 at the Gulf of Georgia Cannery National Historic Site in Steveston, B.C., Canada. The Tiller's Folly, who have performed concerts to packed houses in La Grande the last two falls, perform high-energy acoustic roots music. The band has taken its blend of Celtic/folk/rock/pop/bluegrass across the United States and Canada and to Scotland, where it has been invited back for an encore tour, Murray says. Ron Kote, the engineer, is well-known in the music industry, especially for recording live albums, Murray says. Cote mixed three albums for guitar legend Stevie Ray Vaughan and also mixed albums for Brian Adams. The DVD/CD will be available at La Grande Stereo and Music. |
