FROM BRANSON, MO. RED, HOT...& BLUE! ROLLS INTO ELGIN
![]() Red, Hot ... & Blue! (). ELGIN The Elgin Opera House has cooked up something special next week to chase away those early winter blahs. On Thursday, Nov. 20, Red, Hot ... & Blue! will treat their audience to a nostalgic, musical journey through the decades of the last century. Music from Ragtime and the Roaring 20s to the Big Band era and Rock n' Roll, as well as everything in between, will come alive with quick-moving choreography, precise vocal harmonies and award-winning costumes. A reviewer for the Branson Daily Independent, Branson, Mo., said, "Red, Hot ... & Blue! is a feel good about yourself and your neighbor show. It is a happy show, completely upbeat and chocked full of the good kind of vibes." Red, Hot ... &Blue! is performed daily at the Grand Country Music Hall in Branson. The show's producing director, Chris Tucker, says six of their "Broadway caliber" entertainers take the Branson show on the road every year. The tour group has performed aboard Holland-America Cruise Lines, Princess Cruise Lines and the Big Red Boat worldwide. They have toured extensively throughout the East Coast and South Florida. This will be their first and only performance in Oregon this year. "We're really excited about coming to Oregon," Tucker said last week from his hotel in South Florida where the touring cast was performing. "We're prepared for the climate change," he joked. Their engagement dates will take them to California and Canada before they reach Elgin. Tucker, who has never been to Oregon before, said he has heard great things about the state and, particularly, the Elgin Opera House. He is looking forward to observing for himself its famous acoustics and old-world charm. Red, Hot...&Blue! will perform Nov. 20 at 7 p.m. Advance tickets are still available for $20 from the Elgin Opera House, 541-437-3456, or the Union County Chamber of Commerce, but tickets at the door will be $22. |
