JAZZ RETURNS TO TEN DEPOT JUNE 5

Kerry Williams, Matt Cooper and Luke McKern will perform jazz at Ten Depot Street June 5 from 8 to 10 p.m. Kerry Williams (alto saxophone), originally from Baker City, is a music graduate of Washington State University, where he studied saxophone with Horace Alexander Young and Greg Yasinitsky. He has also studied jazz at William Paterson College in New Jersey, has played professionally for Carnival Cruise Lines, and performs with the Eastern Oregon University Jazz Ensemble. Luke McKern (bass) is a full-time music student at EOU and plays professionally with the bands Blue Pass and String Helix, as well as the EOU Fiddle Ensemble and Jazz Ensemble. Matt Cooper (piano) has taught jazz studies and piano at EOU since 1991, and directs the EOU Jazz Ensemble. There is no cover charge. |
