UNTITLED 2008: The installation Cody Bloom has made specifically for this exhibition will include a series of drawings done over the last several weeks. He has approached these drawings with an experimental influence, utilizing photos from friends and source material from scientific interests. The exhibition will run May 2 through 23 in conjunction with This is the Last Thing You’ll Ever See, the senior capstone exhibition of Lisa Greif, Lucas Kruse and Risa Ubagai (see Page 12). There will be an opening reception honoring all the artists Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. in the gallery. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bloom’s work addresses ideas about the complexity of human interaction/communication. The installation he has made specifically for this exhibition will include a series of drawings done over the last several weeks. He has approached these drawings with an experimental influence, utilizing photos from friends and source material from scientific interests. The exhibit is designed to explore ideas about human interaction and the circulation of information. Originally from Alaska, Cody Bloom received his B.S. degree from Eastern Oregon University in 2007. Work from his capstone exhibit was purchased by the university in 2007 to become part of the EOU permanent collection. Bloom exhibits regionally and has recently accepted a position in the University of Delaware’s graduate program in art. He hopes to complete his MFA degree in 2010. The Nightingale Gallery is very pleased to be able to present the work of this promising young local artist, Gallery Director Cory Peeke said.
