Bluegrass jam Sunday The first Sunday of each month, a bluegrass and acoustic music jam session takes place at the Olde Meeting House, 901 M St., from noon to 5 p.m. Expect bluegrass, fiddle tunes, old-time country, folk music of any tradition and originals in a similar vein. Spectators and players are welcome. Donations are accepted to cover hall maintenance. Pulitzer-winning play coming to EOU stage "Wit," which won the 1999 Pulitzer Prize for drama, is coming to the Eastern Oregon University stage. The play, directed by EOU graduate, Travis Gray, explores the transformation a human makes when she faces the greatest challenge in life the leaving of it. The show will be staged Feb. 6-8 and 13-15, at 8 p.m., in the Lyle A. Schwarz Theatre. Tickets are $4 for students and seniors and $6 for general admission. Catch the Trail Band The Trail Band will perform traditional and old-time music from their sixth album "Lewis and Clark," at 7 p.m. March 15 in McKenzie Theatre. Tickets, at $20 per person, are available by calling 963-1431, at Sunflower Books and at Red Cross Drug Store. Seating is limited. Proceeds from the event will support the nursing internship program at Grande Ronde Hospital. |
