WILDLIFE REHABILITATION CENTER WELCOMES PUBLIC

PENDLETON - Blue Mountain Wildlife is having an open house Saturday. The Pendleton wildlife rehabilitation center will have bald eagles on display. The open house will run from 12 to 4 p.m. with Jimmy Bathke and Steve Seibert flying their birds throughout the afternoon. Blue Mountain Wildlife's education birds will be on display during tours of the center. There will be hot dogs, chili, something for your sweet tooth, and hot and cold beverages available from 12 to 1. Blue Mountain Wildlife will be selling raffle tickets for two weekend getaways a golfing package for two donated by Wildhorse Resort and a weekend for two at the Bar M Guest Ranch. The afternoon will end with the release of a peregrine falcon followed by the raffle drawings. Directions to the center from Interstate 84 are as follows: Take exit 209. Turn right at the stop sign at the end of the off-ramp heading south out of town on Highway 395. Travel six miles, passing the 6-mile marker. Turn right at the next opportunity onto Arabian Drive. When Arabian Drive dead ends in Appaloosa Lane, turn left. The center will be on your right. There will be a signs posted. The 2006 Blue Mountain Wildlife Membership Drive is under way to help support the rehabilitation center. Members can choose from three types of support. Annual membership: Membership dues range from $25 up to $1,000 lifetime membership. Monthly giving: The monthly giving program offers the choice of whatever amount per month that you can contribute on a regular basis. Tribute giving: Make a one time donation to honor someone. |
