Reward offered for information on shot cattle
The Union County Sheriff's Office responded to calls of several shot cattle Thursday and Friday in the Glass Hill Road area.
Sheriff Boyd Rasmussen said this morning that six animals have been located but others are still unaccounted for. The animals were about a mile up Glass Hill just off of the road on private property.
A $2,100 reward is being offered from the owners, the Cattleman's Association and the sheriff's office for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of suspects. Deputy Dane Jensen is leading the ongoing investigation.
"We take these rarely occurring cases very seriously and will vigorously pursue the person or persons responsible," Rasmussen said.
Any information about the cattle shootings should be directed to Deputy Jensen at the sheriff's office at 541-963-1017.
