Bus tour will take shoppers to Wallowa County

ENTERPRISE — The ninth annual Holiday Shopping Bus Tour is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 1.

The tour will depart from the La Grande Town Center at 8 a.m. with pick-up stops at the Imbler Post Office at 8:15 a.m. and Elgin Community Bank at 8:30 a.m.

Tour tickets are $14 per person and can be reserved by calling tour coordinator Sondra Lozier at 541-426-3271 or 888-323-3271.

Coffee and hot chocolate will be available to the shoppers as they ride the Holiday Sleigh for their day of Wallowa County shopping.

Included is a Jingle Snack Pak of homemade sweet bread, fruit, cheese and juice to be enjoyed while visiting with friends on the scenic trip.

The first stop will be in historic Enterprise where participants will be welcomed by nine sponsored shops all decked out for the Christmas season.

After spending the morning browsing Enterprise's downtown shops, the shoppers will board the Holiday Sleigh for Joseph to visit many specialty stores and be greeted by shopkeepers sharing the holiday spirit.

Before each stop, there will be a drawing for $20 gift certificates that may only be used at sponsored businesses. Watch for the "Welcome Holiday Bus Tour Shoppers" sign in their windows. The Goodie Bag will have a special list for shops throughout the towns.

Also included is a $4 lunch coupon that can be used when dining at sponsored eateries.

Shoppers are encouraged to stop by the Joseph Community Center for the Christmas in Joseph Holiday Bazaar and visit with artists and crafters that have seasonal items including fresh evergreen wreaths, homemade candy, baked goods, and many handmade items.

The Holiday Sleigh will depart from Joseph at 5:30 p.m. for the return trip to Union County.

Everyone is invited to join friends and neighbors for a special day of Christmas shopping in the valley of the Wallowas.
