Engineering firm marks 35 years in business; open house to showcase office expansion open house Aug.

To celebrate 35 years in business and the completion of remodeling and expansion projects at their La Grande office, the staff of Anderson-Perry & Associates, Inc.  will host an open house Aug. 19.

The office, at 1901 N. Fir St. in La Grande, will be open to the public from 4 to 7 p.m.  The informal open house will include tours of the office and complimentary hors d’oeuvres and cake.

Their services include water and wastewater systems, bridges, roads and streets, water resources, irrigation, site development, natural resources and surveying.

To accommodate the growing number of employees, Anderson-Perry recently expanded its office building on Fir Street by about 7,900 square feet, adding 20 offices, a new library and a new conference room, bringing the total building size to 17,545 square feet.

“Before the expansion, our survey crew worked out of a single-wide trailer parked next to the building and our natural resources folks worked out of a rental house,” President Brad Baird said. “It’s nice to finally have everyone under one roof.”

Although the firm has grown, its primary purpose has remained the same: to provide quality local engineering services to communities, counties, tribes, and state and federal agencies along with private sector clients throughout Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington.

In its 35-year history, Anderson-Perry has partnered with nearly every city and county in Eastern Oregon for the development of water systems, wastewater systems and transportation projects. 

“It has been a great privilege partnering with our clients to design many successful projects throughout the years,” said Howard Perry, head of the firm. “We’re proud of our relationships, many of which date back to our beginning, and we value the client support that has allowed us to grow and provide more family-wage jobs throughout the years.”

Anderson-Perry provides scholarships to local students, participates in food drives, and contributes to many local charities and organizations. Staff members include little league coaches and community volunteers.

The company is a member of the Union County Chamber of Commerce and its employees are active in the Union County Economic Development Corp., school boards, the United Way, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts, and other organizations.

“We are a very community- and family-oriented company,” Baird said.  “We’re tremendously proud of our staff and their community involvement.  We have excellent, dedicated employees who care about what they do.”
