GET CLIPPED AT PAT'S ALLEY

Betty Owen and Frank Tucori have opened a barbershop in Pat's Alley on Adams Avenue in La Grande.

It's called The Barber Shop.

But they are not new to the barbering trade or the La Grande area. Between them, they have 35 years' experience. Both are natives of Union County.

Tucori started working with Owen at her hair salon about six years ago. Betty owned her own shop, formerly the Doo Drop Inn, for 10 years.

After the death of her brother, Wally Hansell, in July, Owen and Tucori felt that La Grande needed a good barber shop offering quality work and service with reasonable prices, she said.

The Barber Shop is open Tuesdays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

They are looking forward to serving the community, they said.

"We hope people will come in and have a cup of coffee on us and watch some sports on TV while they wait," Owen said.
