LA GRANDE '01 GRAD OPENS NEW BUSINESS

Kasey Nielson, a 2001 graduate of La Grande High School, has graduated from New Images Academy of Beauty in Boise and is opening Tropic Tan and Hair Salon in La Grande.

The business is in Pat's Alley, 1414 Adams Ave.

Nielson said there will be six workers, including herself. She will work Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. Other employees will work their own schedule. Business hours will be 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with evening appointments available. The phone number is 663-9117.

In Boise, Nielson participated in specialty classes on braided hair extensions, color application, weaving techniques, modern weaving techniques.

"I specialize in men's, women's and children's haircuts, coloring, weaving, perming, manicures, pedicures and special occasion styles," Nielson sid.
