NEW SCREEN PRINTING BUSINESS BUYS PIRATE'S DEN ARTWORK

If you or your group are among those who thought their logos or company emblems had been absconded from La Grande when a local screen-printing business closed — not to worry.

Kerry Cathey has purchased the business known as Pirates Den Screen Printing on 20th Street. It was run by Bill Cooper, who closed it and moved to Cedar City, Utah.

Cooper apparently took the materials he had accumulated over 20 years or so, including logos for T-shirts, designs for school athletic shirts and for hats and other personal stuff.

But Cathey and her husband, Calvin, who operates Calvin Cathey Painting in La Grande, were able to find Cooper.

They did not buy the building, but purchased the business and its materials.

The business has a new name: Eagle Cap Art and Screenprinting. It hopes to serve businesses, sports groups and individuals.

It is now located at 2620 Bearco Loop in La Grande.

"We got all the artwork back," said Calvin.

Hours at the new site will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily. There will be only two workers there for the time being, but more will be added as business grows.
