SANDY'S FASHIONS LOSES LEASE, WILL SOON CLOSE

After 16 years in business at the same place — 1117 Adams Ave. in La Grande Sandy's Fashions is going out of business.

"We're losing our lease," said Sandy Young, who owns the business with her husband, Phillip.

"We've been here for 16 years selling moderately priced ladies' wear and gifts," she said during her going-out-of business sale this week.

Young, who was born and raised in Eugene, said the building had been sold to the Edward Jones Investment firm, but Shawn Mangum of that firm said nothing is final.

"We're in the process of moving in that direction (of purchasing the building now housing Sandy's)," he said.

Mangum is at 1212 Adams Ave., a building owned by Jack Kleck. Kleck said he has the building that houses Edward Jones and Ikon Office Solutions listed for sale. Young said she had some things she is "thinking about doing, possibly another business, but it wouldn't be a retail business like this. I haven't decided."
