TWO HONORED FOR WORK IN NATURAL RESOURCES

Larry Cribbs of La Grande and Pat Wortman of Enterprise, both members of the Grande Ronde Model Watershed Program board, received New Century Service awards from the U.S. Forest Service. They were nominated by Tom Mills, former director of Pacific Northwest Research Station in Portland.

Cribbs was recognized for his many activities and initiatives in natural resources in Eastern Oregon and Eastern Washington and for his work with the Blue Mountain Natural Resources Institute, the Grande Ronde Model Watershed Program and other efforts to address related forest health issues on National Forest lands.

Wortman was recognized for his involvement in Oregon and Washington and especially for his efforts in the Wallowa County-Nez Perce Salmon habitat Recovery Plan, the Blue Mountain Natural Resources Institute, the Grande Ronde Model Watershed Program and his efforts in natural resource issues in Eastern Oregon and Washington.
