ACCIDENT VICTIM REMAINS CRITICAL
A week after Amy Daggett, 20, of Elgin was critically injured in a collision with a log truck along Highway 82, she remains in a Boise hospital.
Daggett, according to a spokeswoman at St. Alphonsus Medical Center, remains in critical condition in the intensive care unit this morning.
Daggetts great-aunt, Kathy Slack of La Grande, said this morning that she has gotten word that Daggett is coming along pretty good.
A fund has been set up at Pioneer Bank in La Grande to accept donations to help cover medical and family expenses for the Daggetts. Any contributions are greatly appreciated, her family said.
Oregon State Police expect that the results of the accident investigation will be completed near the end of the week.
The accident resulted in injuries to Daggett, the death of Elvera Trump, 77, and the total loss of both Daggetts vehicle and the loaded log truck driven by a Baker City man.
