AVISTA SEEKS 7.1% RATE CUT
SPOKANE Avista Corp. has filed a request with the Oregon Public Utilities Commission to reduce natural gas prices by 7.1 percent effective
The price reduction comes as a result of lower wholesale prices, Avista officials said. On April 1 Avista reduced its natural gas rate by 15.3 percent.
The Oct. 1 rate reduction will result in a savings of $3.18 a month for residential customers who use an average of 54 therms of gas a month. Larger-use commercial and industrial customers in Oregon will see a higher percentage decrease because of lower base rates, Avista said.
Avista serves 80,000 natural gas customers in Oregon, including the northeast corner of the state.
