BRIEFLY: Neighborhood set to discuss ditch

Neighborhood set to discuss ditch 

A neighborhood meeting to discuss the sale of surplus property known as the Grande Ronde Ditch will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday at the Johnson Conference Room, Cook Memorial Library, 2006 Fourth St. This meeting is to discuss submitting an offer for property known as the Grande Ronde Ditch.

People who have questions or comments they would like to discuss prior to the neighborhood meeting can call Norm Paullus, public works director, at 541-962-1325.

Chef prepares organic kale chips Saturday 

Saturday at the La Grande Farmers’ Market enjoy a musical performance by Three Kings. During the music break at 10:30 a.m., check out the Chef at the Market booth for a demonstration of how to prepare organic kale chips by Anna Reuter and a free sample made from local ingredients at the market.

Exercise classes designed for seniors 

The Union County Senior Center offers a “senior exercise class with chairs” from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. For more information call Joan Rose at 541-663-1983. The center is also considering offering a yoga or stretching class designed for seniors. Those interested are asked to the senior center at 541-963-7532.

Celebrate Fourth early with dance

An Early Fourth of July Community Dance will run from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Saturday at the Union County Senior Center. 

Saturday’s dance will feature the music of the BlueMountaineers, a finger food potluck and door prizes.

The Second (Indianhead) Division Association is searching for anyone who served in the Army’s 2nd Infantry Division at any time. Southside Kids hosts Family Movie Night 

Southside Kids is hosting another #Fun4Families event “Family Movie Night” at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Southside of Heaven, 211 Fir St. 

They’ll be showing “Lilo and Stitch.”  Come dressed Hawaiian style and enjoy free snacks and drawings.  Kids and teens must be accompanied by an adult.
