Oregon State Police seized approximately 150 pounds of marijuana during a traffic stop Monday morning on Interstate 84 about six miles east of La Grande.
A California man was arrested and the investigation is continuing, the OSP said.
On Aug. 25, at approximately 9:30 a.m., an Oregon State Police trooper stopped a 1999 Ford F150 pickup displaying Washington license plates on westbound Interstate 84 near milepost 269 for a lane change violation.
Subsequent to the stop the trooper found approximately 150 pounds of marijuana in the bed of the pickup, which had a cover over it to conceal the load.
The lone occupant of the pickup, Cristobal Barajas Cardenas, 26, from Ceres, Calif., was taken into custody and lodged in the Union County Correctional Facility for unlawful possession, delivery and manufacturing of a controlled substance.
Estimated value of the seized marijuana is $450,000.
