Walk for Warmth event set
It is not too late to join this year’s Union County’s Walk for Warmth event Saturday. Registration runs from 10 a.m. to noon at the Union County Senior Center, 1504 Albany St.
Participants can choose one-, two- and three-mile walks or a six-mile run.
Soup and bread lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. for participants.

The event celebrates its sixth anniversary with featured guest performers Lea and Mark Emerson of “Envoy,” a local jazz/pop band. Individual and team prizes will be awarded for the highest total dollars collected. Tickets for the “Quilt and Fish” raffle will also be available for purchase at $5 per ticket.
New this year is a free event T-shirt for participants collecting $50 or more dollars. Some T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
The event supports the efforts of Community Connection of Northeast Oregon to assist Union County families facing home heating emergencies.
Organizing sponsors are MESA Club (Eastern Oregon University); C.U.R.R.E.N.T.S. of Justice for Peace; Community Connection of Northeast Oregon; Sacred Heart Catholic Church (Union); and Grande Ronde Road Runners.
Art Center offers music, art camp

COVE — The Cove Masonic Lodge will hold its annual Sweetheart Breakfast at the Lodge in Cove from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Sunday.
Sausage, eggs, orange juice and all-you-can-eat pancakes will be served for $5 per person.
