CHD seeks input on immunizations; survey is posted online
|
The Center for Human Development has posted a survey regarding attitudes about immunizations in Union County. The questionnaire derives from the recently-formed Union County Immunization Coalition, organized by Joelene Peasley of CHD and Barbara Wall, an AmeriCorps VISTA (“Volunteers in Service to America”) volunteer stationed at the center. The anonymous survey, available at www.chdinc.org/vaccinesurvey.asp, is primarily geared toward parents with young children. “We’re interested in all opinions,” Wall said. She said the survey would probably remain online for at least six months or a year, and that the coalition would periodically assess the results. Vaccinations, especially of children, remain controversial, with some parents concerned about possible side effects. The coalition hopes to foster a dialogue about the subject. To that same end, Wall is also organizing a focus group on immunizations in Union County. She encouraged people of any position on the topic to call her at 962-8836 if they’d like to participate; she needs at least five. |
