COVE FIXES CITY WATER PROBLEM
COVE The city of Cove has lifted its water warning and residents no longer have to boil water for drinking.
A problem detected in the city's water last week has been corrected and the water is safe to drink, the city announced Saturday.
The city installed plumbing modifications at the well and reservoir to increase chlorine contact time and provide adequate treatment for parasites. The water has been tested by the state.
The treatment will be sufficient unless the turbidity of the water becomes too high, the city's notice said. The city will continue to monitor turbidity and will notify the public if measurements exceed standards.
