Case made against national education standards
The drive toward full implementation of Common Core State Standards for public schools is gaining momentum, much to the dismay of Bob Perry of Redmond.
Perry, a member of the Redmond School Board, is among a growing number of people who oppose Common Core State Standards. He presented his case in lively and emphatic fashion last week during a talk at the New Holland building on McAlister Road.
“Common Core is going to be a mess. I don’t know if we can get it cleaned up,” Perry said during a presentation titled “What Parents Need to Know about Common Core.”
