Crossing the Blues

After months of careful planning and weeks of steadily building excitement, the first Crossing the Blues festival is ready to roll.

The event, featuring food, music, art, theater and plenty more, opens Friday in downtown La Grande and continues through Saturday evening. Organizers believe they’ve put together a happening that shows Eastern Oregon in its very best light.

“I’m impressed with the variety of activities that are planned, especially on the arts side,” said Janet Dodson, executive director of Union County Tourism. “I’m hopeful the community and visitors alike will support it.”

All festival activities take place on Adams Avenue near Fourth Street, close to City Hall, the Cook Library and Max Square. Some Saturday events coincide with the Farmers Market, held weekly in Max Square.
