Davies named Murray State University president
Eastern Oregon University President Bob Davies is bound for Murray State University in Kentucky.
Davies was named the next president of Murray State University today by the university's board of regents. Davies is tentatively set to assume his new position on July 14, the Murray Ledger & Times reported.
Davies, 47, visited the Murray State campus on Monday and Tuesday where he met with many groups and was interviewed by the university's board of regents.
Davies is completing his fifth year as Eastern's president. He came to Eastern from Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he had been since 2006.
Murray State, a state supported public university has 10,943 students, according to its website. Eastern has about 4,100 students. Murray State is in Murray, Kent, which is in the southwest portion of the state.
