EOU interim president named
Jay Kenton, the Oregon University System's vice chancellor of finance and administration, will soon be leading Eastern Oregon University.
The Oregon State Board of Higher Education named Kenton as EOU's interim president today. Kenton will temporarily succeed Bob Davies who was named the next president of Murray State University in Kentucky in March. Davies is completing his fifth year as Eastern's president and will become Murray State's president on July 14.
Kenton will formally become interim president on June 16. Kenton, who lives in Corvallis, has served as OUS vice chancellor of finance and administration for 10 years. He began his higher education career at Eastern in 1983, serving as assistant director of business affairs through 1986.
