SUMMERVILLE — Triplet lambs were born to Emilee Patterson’s 4-H ewe, Miss Jackson, at their rural Summerville home on Super Tuesday. The triplets, which were named Obama, Hillary and Huckabee, were born in a snow bank at 2:30 a.m. “Obama was born first,” said Emilee. At his heels was a tough and muscular Hillary. Huckabee slithered behind her, a little on the cold side. Since their births, Obama has been the loudest bleeter of the three, she said, while Hillary fearlessly tries to push Obama aside at feeding time. “However, when Huckabee was born, he was the coldest of the three and needed to be brought into the house to get blow-dried and fed a little colostrum,” said Emilee’s mother, Aimee Patterson. Emilee plans to sell some of her lambs to other 4-H members, but she thinks Obama possesses the best show qualities. “I’m probably going to take him to the Eastern Oregon Livestock Show in Union this year,” she said. |
