NORTH POWDER — A fire in North Powder Thursday afternoon destroyed a camper trailer but caused no serious injuries.
The fire was reported at 3:20 p.m. When a crew from the North Powder Rural Fire Department arrived two minutes later, the camper was fully engulfed, said Sam Martin, chief of the North Powder Rural Fire Department.
A man who lived in the camper was inside when the fire started and suffered mild smoke inhalation.
Four engines were used to fight the fire, which was extinguished in about 30 minutes. Thirteen firefighters from the North Powder Rural Fire Department combatted the blaze.
The fire was on G Street just east of Powder Valley High School.
The cause of the fire is not known.
