ELGIN — No injuries were reported in a structure fire that broke out at a residence on North 10th Street about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday. According to police and fire reports, the fire involved a garage, house and a recreational vehicle at 310 N. 10th St. About 11 Elgin Rural Fire Department volunteers, assisted by five more from the Imbler Fire Department, turned out to battle the blaze. “They did a good job of getting it knocked down quick,” said Elgin Fire Rural Fire Department Chief Pat McDonald. Robert and Mary Trump escaped the house without injury. Their son, Robbie Trump, was in the recreational vehicle. He also escaped unharmed. McDonald said the garage was heavily damaged and that the RV was a total loss. The house sustained smoke and water damage. Cause of the fire is still under investigation, McDonald said. |
