Full slate of events on tap for Fourth

ENTERPRISE — Traditional Fourth of July events are planned in Wallowa County beginning with the Lions Club breakfast at the Beth Johnson Room at Wallowa High School at 8 a.m. Friday.

Grand marshals Reed and Marilyn Johnson will lead a parade from the football field through town at 9:30 a.m. The theme this year is “Wallowa County: Proud of our History,” with historical photos and memorabilia by the Wallowa History Center.

A barbecue will start at noon with booths of arts and crafts, a farmers market and live music.

Duck races will start at 3 p.m. with 175 numbered ducks racing to the finish. Ducks can be purchased for $5 each. Prizes will be given to the winners.

At 7 p.m. a Moffit bus will be leaving for the fireworks display at Wallowa Lake. The cost is $11 per person. Bring your own food and blankets. The bus returns at 11 p.m. Lower Valley folks can enjoy the fireworks without the hassle of the traffic to and from the lake.

The Enterprise Outlaw Wrestling Boosters are selling TNT Fireworks from the trailer in the Safeway parking lot. There are fireworks available for all age levels including sparklers, smoke bombs and family assortment packs. 

The boosters will be selling fireworks from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today, Tuesday and Wednesday, and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and Friday.

The real fireworks show at Wallowa Lake begins at dark, around 10 p.m. Friday.

The weekend celebration continues in Lostine with the annual  Lostine Flea Market from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. There are an assortment of food vendors, and the returning tool and crafts booths.

The grange is serving breakfast each day from 6 to 10 a.m.

Enjoy live music by the Terry Moffit Band on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.
