IT'S FAIR WEEK IN WALLOWA COUNTY
ENTERPRISE The Wallowa County Fair opened this week with the 4-H horse show as usual. However, for the first time in years, it will end with an old-fashioned amateur rodeo.
The fourth annual Redneck Rodeo will be held at the fairgrounds Friday and Saturday in conjunction with the last two days of the fair.
4-H and FFA livestock entries weighed in today. The livestock portion of the fair begins Thursday with market beef, sheep and swine classes scheduled throughout the day.
Thursday through Saturday the fair begins with fathers of participants serving breakfast from 6 to 8 a.m.
An ice cream and pie social, served by the Wallowa County granges, begins at 1 p.m. Thursday.
Cloverleaf Hall will open at 9:30 a.m. each day for open class exhibits, including art, photography, crafts, flowers and vegetables. The hall remains open until 8 p.m. each day through Friday.
Small animal classes and showmanship competition will be Friday. The final event that day will be a teen dance beginning at 8 p.m.
Pee wee sheep showmanship and the 4-H dog show will be Saturday.
The final fair events will be the 4-H/FFA Awards program at 3:30 p.m., the annual FFA barbecue starting at 4 p.m. and the livestock sale at 5:30 p.m. Saturday.
