Island City councilor will step down at the end of February
ISLAND CITY — Kevin Bradshaw, a member of the Island City City Council since January of 2013, will step down at the end of this month.
Bradshaw has announced he is resigning because his family is moving out of the Island City area. His family will soon move to La Grande and then to Idaho Falls, Idaho, later this year.
Bradshaw hopes to run for public office again in Idaho Falls.
“I enjoy helping and serving other people,” said Bradshaw, who earlier served as a member of La Grande’s art commission.
Bradshaw runs an online ceramic art supply business.
Bradshaw’s wife, JoAnna, is a local Boy Scout leader as the Eastern Oregon District Paraprofessional for the Blue Mountain Council. She oversees Boy Scout programs in Union, Wallowa, Baker and Grant counties. JoAnna hopes to work in Boy Scouting in Idaho Falls, her husband said.
In Idaho Falls, the Bradshaws will be close to their son, Kevin Jr., who will attend Idaho State University in Pocatello this fall. Idaho Falls is 52 miles northeast of Pocatello. Kevin Bradshaw Jr. is a senior at Imbler High School.
