A La Grande woman faces prosecution on nine sex charges, including two of rape in the third degree, in a case involving a boy under the age of 16. Dana Allison Schaad was arraigned before Judge Russell West Tuesday in Union County Circuit Court. In addition to the two counts of rape in the third degree, Schaad, 37, is charged with one count of sex abuse in the third degree, three counts of sexual misconduct and three counts of contributing to the sexual delinquency of a minor. Schaad was arrested Sept. 12 following an investigation by the Oregon State Police. The OSP alleges she had sexual intercourse with the boy on three occasions in August and September. Schaad is free pending trial. According to her release agreement, she is not to have direct or indirect contact with minors under the age of 18. She is allowed contact with her own children. Schaad is the ex-wife of Union County Sheriff’s deputy Travis Schaad. A date for her preliminary hearing has not been set. |
