Man arrested in connection with stolen trailers, ATVs
A 36-year-old North Powder man was arrested Friday afternoon following an investigation by the Union County Sheriff’s Office regarding a theft of a utility trailer.
Christopher Lee Jordan of North Powder was charged with theft in the first degree and possession of meth.
During the investigation, sheriff’s officials executed a search warrant on a North Powder residence where they recovered one utility trailer that had been stolen out of Umatilla County. Another large trailer containing two ATVs was also recovered.
Deputies contacted the registered owner of the trailers and ATVS, who lives in Idaho. The victim did not know the items had been stolen, according to the sheriff’s office. The Union County Sheriff’s Office seized the items.
An Oregon State Police trooper located and stopped the suspect in the investigation on Island Avenue in La Grande Friday afternoon. Deputies arrived to assist and arrested Jordan. A search of the vehicle resulted in the discovery of a small amount of suspected methamphetamine, according to the sheriff’s office.
