PGG exits retail, automotive businesses
PENDLETON — Pendleton Grain Growers, Inc. announced Thursday it has entered into negotiations to sell the AG Supply retail stores located in Joseph, Hermiston and Island City. The cooperative did not receive offers on the remaining three stores or the Pendleton Automotive Service Center.
These changes reflect the cooperatives’ restructuring to provide more resources to its core businesses.
“We are optimistic about the opportunities provided by the restructuring of PGG,” said Tim Hawkins, chairman of the PGG board of directors. “The board understands the impact that exiting the three locations and the Pendleton Automotive Service Center will have on our members, employees and communities. ”
The final date of business for the PGG AG Supply stores is still to be determined, but will occur in early September.
