PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT: Monday, Dec. 9

 

La Grande Police

Arrested Joshua Alan Johnson, 28, unknown address, was arrested Friday afternoon on a parole and probation detainer. He was additionally charged with possession of meth and felon in possession of a weapon.

Arrested: Jesus Retano Rodriguez, 19, unknown address, was arrested Saturday night on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, hit and run and second-degree criminal mischief.

Arrested: Levi Gene Kast, 23, transient, was arrested early Sunday morning on a charge of second-degree disorderly conduct.

Arrested: Paul Leo Smith, 38, unknown address, was arrested on a Umatilla County warrant charging failure to appear on an original charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants. The subject was also charged with possession of meth.

Union County Sheriff

Accident: At least one person was injured in an accident at 155 N. !0th Ave. in Elgin Saturday afternoon.

Arrested: James Henry Ambright, 38, Union, was arrested Saturday on a charge of harassment.

Arrested: Shawn Lee Presock, 30, unknown address, was arrested Sunday afternoon on a parole and probation detainer.

Arrested: Dustin Robert Rhodes, 26, unknown address, was arrested on a Union County warrant charging driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving.

La Grande Fire and Ambulance

La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to eight calls for medical assistance, one police assist and one carbon monoxide abatement between 7:30 a.m. Friday and 7:30 am. Saturday.

La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to eight calls for medical assistance, three smoke alarms and one carbon monoxide abatement between 7:30 a.m. Saturday and 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to two calls for medical assistance, one  smoke alarm and two calls for mutual aid assistance between 7:30 a.m. Sunday and 7:30 a.m. this morning.

La Grande Rural Fire

On Friday at 7:30 p.m., a crew responded to a single vehicle crash near milepost 270 on Interstate 84. No one was transported to the hospital by ambulance.

On Sunday, crews responded to Union to assist with thermal imaging, to La Grande to assist with flooding due to pipes breaking. Crews also responded to a broken water pipe on Downs Road and to an alarm at Eagle Freight. There was no fire.
