PUBLIC SAFETY REPORT: Monday, Jan. 13

 

La Grande Police

Accident: No one was injured in an accident at Washington Avenue and Hemlock Street during the noon hour Friday.

Arrested: Steffin Michael Church, 19, La Grande, was arrested on charges of giving false information to a police officer and obstructing governmental administration. He was also cited on a charge of minor in possession of alcohol.

Arreseted: Leon A. Higley, 37, unknown address, was arrested early Saturday morning on a charge of disorderly conduct.

Arrested: James Marshall Hance, 23, unknown address, was arrested early Saturday on charges of third-degree assault, first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree and second-degree criminal mischief.

Arrested: Ladelle D. Carroll, 24, unknown address, was arrested early Saturday on charges of third-degree assault, first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree and second-degree criminal mischief.

Arrested: Marcus D. Hamlin, 23, unknown address, was arrested early Saturday on charges of third-degree assault, first-degree burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary in the first degree and second-degree criminal mischief.

Union County Sheriff

Arrested: Mark A. Paxton, 43,  unknown address, was arrested Friday morning on a circuit court warrant charging failure to appear on original charges of manufacture of marijuana, second-degree disorderly conduct and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

Arrested: Jacob Timothy Duane Weyant, 19, unknown address, was arrested Friday morning on a Union County Juvenile Department warrant charging order to show cause on a charge of second-degree burglary. He was additionally charged with possession of hydrocodone.

Accident: No one was injured in an accident at Hunter Road and Woodell Lane in Summerville Sunday morning.

Accident: An injury accident was reported near 71522 Palmer Junction Road in Elgin Sunday afternoon.

Arrested: A minor was arrested on a parole and probation detainer early Monday morning.

Oregon State Police

Arrested: Jeffery Ryan Defries, 32, Union, was arrested Jan. 1 on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Arrested: Gabriel J. Wilson, 35, Elgin, was arrested Jan. 3 on a warrant charging probation violation.

Arrested: Tynan Richard Frank, 28, La Grande, was arrested Jan. 3 on charges of driving under the influence of intoxicants, possession of methamphetamine and on a parole and probation detainer.

Arrested: Clinton Lee Tarvin, 71, La Grande, was arrested Jan. 4 on a charge of driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Arrested: Jo Ann Bounds, 43, Phoenix, was arrested Jan. 5 on a felony warrant charging failure to appear.

Arrested: Steven M. Zacharias, 48, Hermiston, was arrested Jan. 5 on a felony warrant charging failure to appear. He was also charged with giving false information to a police officer.

Cited: Alexander Baltazar Escobar, 31, Wallowa, was cited Jan. 6 on a charge of driving without an operator’s license.

Union Fire and Ambulance

During the week of Jan. 5 to Jan. 12, the Union Fire and Ambulance Department responded to two medical calls, and one motor vehicle fire.

La Grande Fire and Ambulance

La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to seven calls for medical assistance Friday. La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to four medical calls Saturday. La Grande Fire and Ambulance crews responded to 15 medical calls Sunday.

La Grande Rural Fire

About 9:07 a.m. Friday, a crew responded to assist the Union Fire Department with a car fire on Highway 203 near Peach Road.

At about 2:45 a.m. Saturday, an engine responded to Buchanan Lane for a power pole on fire.

At about 9:56 p.m. Saturday, a crew responded to a medical emergency.
