Pendleton police asking public's help

The Pendleton Police Department is asking for the public’s help in an assault investigation.

 

Pendleton police received a report of a missing female around 11 p.m. Friday, according to a press release from the Pendleton Police Department. The female had been for a walk on the river parkway at around 6 p.m. The female was located by a Pendleton police detective at approximately 6:50 a.m. Saturday near the river levee behind the Babe Ruth/Bob White baseball field, according to the release.

The female victim, who had been physically assaulted, was transported to St. Anthony Hospital by paramedics. She was later taken by air ambulance to Oregon Health & Science University in Portland for treatment of her injuries and she is currently listed in critical, but stable condition.

Investigators are searching for a person of interest in the case. The individual is described as an adult male, 18 to 25 years of age, with a tan or darker skin tone and dark brown or black hair. He is believed to be between 5-8 to 5-11, 150 to 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing khaki shorts and a dark brown or black T-shirt.

The Pendleton Police Department is being assisted by members of the Oregon State Police, Oregon State Police Forensics Services Division, Milton-Freewater Police Department, Umatilla County Sheriff's Department, Umatilla County Parole and Probation and the Umatilla County District Attorney's Office.
