SHOOTING VICTIM MAY HAVE BEEN HITCHHIKING
The 19-year-old Tacoma, Wash., man found shot and lying along a road near Upper Perry remains in critical condition this morning in a Boise hospital.
A press spokeswoman at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center said that Russell George Wilcoxson is being treated in the hospital's intensive care unit.
According to Deputy Jim Voelz of the Union County Sheriff's Office, it is believed that Wilcoxson was hitchhiking toward Tacoma from the Boise area.
Officers have no further information about what happened to Wilcoxson, Voelz said, and are asking anyone who may have seen him between July 4 and July 6 to call 963-1017 and ask for him or Sgt. Phil Myer.
Wilcoxson was discovered unconscious about 3:30 p.m. Saturday by motorists. It is unknown how long he had been left after being shot.
The shooting incident is being investigated by the Union County Major Crimes Team.
