SOLACE DURING WAR

Rev. Janet Farrell lights candles in the sanctuary of the United Methodist Church in La Grande Thursday. The church is open from 12-1 p.m. every Tuesday and Thursday through Easter to provide people with a place of "solace during war," said Farrell, who will be available during this time to provide counsel. "It's important for us to spend equal time on spiritual reflection and watching the news," she said. Handouts are available at the church to help children cope with war.
