Shelter receives $747K grant
Shelter From the Storm has been awarded a three-year rural grant from the Office on Violence Against Women.
This grant represents a collaborative effort involving the La Grande Police Department, Union County Community Corrections and the nonprofit domestic violence and sexual assault services organization Shelter From the Storm.
The goals of this project are to provide victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking with designated personnel working to increase their safety and hold abusers accountable; provide resources to assist victims healing and recovery; and enhance the ability of rural victims to access advocacy services, resources and professionals trained specifically in sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.

Shelter From the Storm is a domestic violence and sexual assault center providing crisis services including a 24-Hour Crisis Hotline, counseling, advocacy and a Sexual Assault Response Team.
