ENTERPRISE — The Wallowa and Enterprise high school chapters of TADA — Teens Against Drugs and Alcohol — will hold a special forum from 6:30 to 8 p.m. April 8 at the Enterprise School multipurpose room. The citizens of Wallowa County are invited to attend. TADA members of both chapters have written individual research papers and created accompanying visual presentations that will be showcased. Several of the members will give brief speeches highlighting their projects. Topics were selected by the members and include such issues as the changes in alcoholic beverages in recent years; ingredients and effects of energy drinks; effects of marijuana on the body; depression and youth suicide; tobacco products and the effect on the body and brain; ecstasy; methamphetamine; and impaired driving. The forum will begin with oral presentations by several members from both TADA chapters, followed by a question and answer period. Presentations will be on exhibit with members available for questions and comments on their projects. Refreshments will be served. TADA is a student prevention coalition that was started at Enterprise High School in the fall of 2005. The members chose the name for the group to reflect their primary focus, though the members decide each year which issues to address and include other prevention efforts such as teen pregnancy prevention. The second chapter of TADA was started this school year at Wallowa High School.
