THURSDAY FORUM TO LOOK AT OREGON POLITICS
The Blue Mountain Forum will sponsor a discussion Thursday by two Oregon pollsters on the present political situation in the state.
"Does anyone really care?" is the topic of discussion by Tim Hibbitts and Bob Moore.
The meeting is at 7 p.m. at the Misener Conference Room in the Chaplin Building, 1001 Fourth St.
Hibbitts is a partner in the firm of Davis, Hibbitts and McCaig, Inc. in Portland. He has been conducting political research in the Northwest since 1978.
Moore is president of Moore Information and has been conducting market and public opinion research projects for corporations, associations, government agencies, school districts and campaigns since founding his company in 1981.
Hibbitts is regularly consulted by political analysts and commentators from across the country, including the Washington Post and Time Magazine. He is a political analyst for The Oregonian and KATU-TV.
Moore's polling research has included 22 campaigns for the U.S. Senate, 19 for governors, more than 100 for Congress and 28 state-wide ballot measures in the western United States. He is a frequent speaker on public opinion topics and has authored numerous articles on public opinion for state and national publications.
The Blue Mountain Forum is a non-profit, non-partisan organization bringing informed and distinguished speakers to Eastern Oregon, said Jennie Tucker, program coordinator for the group.
The meeting is free and open to all. There will be time for questions and answers at the end of the talks.
