Unconfirmed reports say man shot, killed in Wallowa Co.

WALLOWA — Wallowa County law enforcement authorities declined to give any details this morning on a shooting incident that occurred about 4 p.m. Wednesday in the Wallowa area.

The Wallowa County Sheriff’s Office refused to comment, saying District Attorney Mona Williams planned to release some information later in the day.

Contacted by phone this morning, Williams said an investigation is under way, but declined to give any other information.

“The investigation is just beginning, and I cannot comment. I will issue a press release as soon as I have information,” Williams said.

Unconfirmed reports from from people living in the area say a man was killed in the incident.
