Koby M. Albrecht, 38, La Grande, died Wednesday at Grande Ronde Hospital. A full obituary will be published later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory will be handling the arrangements.
Virginia Lorraine Beeghly
After a life filled with happiness and some sorrow, Virginia Lorraine Beeghly died Jan. 16 at Wallowa Memorial Hospital in Enterprise.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Summerville Cemetery.
Virginia was born at home Jan. 31, 1929, in Climbing Hill, Woodbury, Iowa, the daughter of Amour Darsie Cooper and Maxine Elizabeth Rarick. Virginia had two sisters, Ruth Elaine and Betty Pauline. Virginia married Clair Dale Beeghly on Aug. 12, 1950, in Pierson, Iowa. Virginia is the mother of four children: Charlene Elaine Cooper, Barbara Kay Beeghly, Karl de Wayne Beeghly and Ordell Amour Beeghly.
Virginia was a member of the Enterprise Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had many friends.
Virginia liked gardening and helping others, mainly the aged. Virginia and her husband lived in Iowa, Washington, Montana and Oregon.
She is survived by her daughter, Charlene Bottjen, and her husband, Dean, of St. Louis, and two grandsons; Brian Alan Bottjen and Scott Alan Bottjen and his wife, Bekki, all from Phoenix, Ariz.
Preceding her in death was her parents; husband, Clair Dale Beeghly; two sons, Karl de Wayne Beeghly and Ordell Amour Beeghly; and an infant daughter, Barbara Kay Beeghly, who died shortly after birth.

Robert Earl Pointer
Robert Earl Pointer, 89, of Island City, died Jan. 20 in Wallowa. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Summerville Cemetery Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Daniels~Knopp Funeral, Cremation & Life Celebration Center.
Robert was born on Dec. 10, 1924, the son of Robert Edward and Dovey (Rymer) Pointer in Ontario. The family lived in Sumpter until moving to Summerville when he was a young child. He was educated at the Dry Creek School. On June 30, 1945, he married Wanda Sanderson in Baker City. He worked as a mill worker for Boise Cascade until his retirement in 1989. He was a member of Kingdom’s Hall Jehovah’s Witnesses in La Grande. He loved gardening and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his children, Bev and Dan DeLashmutt of La Grande, Melvin and Jan Pointer of La Grande, and Chuck and Susie Anderson of Elgin; daughter-in-law, Alana Pointer of La Grande; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Pointer; son, Adrin Pointer, and sisters, Dorothy Maddox and Lela Transue.
