Trumbo


 

Kay A. Trumbo

La Grande

1938-2013 

 

Kay A. Trumbo, 75, of La Grande, died Friday at her home. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Grandview Cemetery.

Kay was born Jan., 29, 1938, in Redfield, S.D., to Bruce W. and Beatrice I. (Waters) Wise. She was raised in Saint Helens and graduated from Saint Helens High School. 

She married Larry Eager and later divorced and then married Jay Trumbo, who died earlier.

Kay worked for Techtronics, where she was the first woman drafter. 

She later worked for the education service district and was the bookkeeper for Jay Trumbo Concrete.

Kay enjoyed beading, canning, singing, playing the piano, camping, gardening, going to the Jeep races and picking huckleberries.

She is survived by her children, Christie Morris and her husband, Adam, of Portland; Laura Tishmack and her husband, George, of Union; James Trumbo and his wife, Sue, of La Grande; Donna Trumbo and her husband, Zee, of Arizona; Darren Trumbo of Hawaii and Kathy Bagget of Arizona; her father, Bruce Wise; brothers, Duane and his wife, Pearle, and Darrel and his wife, Cindy; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; mother, Beatrice Wise; brother, Ron Wise; stepmother, Mary Wise; granddaughter, Jennifer Holm; and son, William Trumbo.
