Obituaries for the day of April 28, 2009 Thomas J. Carpino Jr. La Grande Thomas Joseph Carpino Jr., 63, of La Grande, died April 24 at at his home. A service will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Faith Center in Island City. A complete obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
La Grande Wayne R. Frazier, 54, of La Grande, died April 21. No services are planned. Daniels-Knopp Funeral, Cremation and Life Celebration Center is in charge of arrangements.
Formerly of La Grande Robert “Bob” Gerry, 80, of Baker City and formerly of La Grande and Redwood City, Calif., died April 15. Services will be held later for family members. A full obituary will be available later.
Island City Marilyn Zachow, 85, of Island City, died April 26 at her home. A complete obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel & Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
La Grande 1917-2009 Eileen May Gross, 91, of La Grande, died April 19 at her home. Loveland Funeral Chapel and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. Eileen was born May 24, 1917, to Frank and Jessie (Hyde) Kenney in Corvallis. She married Wendell Gross in June 1939. She moved from Hermiston and has lived in the La Grande area since 2003. She enjoyed traveling and spending time at her other home in Yuma, Ariz., and loved playing cards. She also loved reading and watching Lawrence Welk. She is survived by her children, Ronald and his wife, Betty Gross, of La Grande, Jan Mills of El Centro, Calif., Douglas Gross of Eugene and Frank and his wife, Lee Gross, of Hermiston; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Marge. |
