LOCAL FUNERALS AND VISITATIONS

Aug. 19 — Loretta Foster, funeral services, 11 a.m., Enterprise Cemetery; dinner reception, noon, Enterprise VFW Hall

Aug. 19 — Richard Schricker, viewing, 3 to 8 p.m., Coles Funeral Home, Baker City

Aug. 20 — Richard Schricker, memorial service, 11 a.m., Agape Christian Center, Baker City, reception to follow; graveside service, 3 p.m., Hillcrest East Cemetery, La Grande

Aug. 22 — Jim Wilson, celebration of life, 1 p.m., Island City City Hall


Dwight Botts, 79, of Anatone, Wash., and formerly of Flora, died Aug. 15. A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. Thursday at Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston, Wash.


Raymond Elzie Makin, 64, of Wallowa, died Aug. 15. A funeral service begins at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Assembly of God Church in Wallowa.

Bollman Funeral Home is handling arrangements.



Richard A. Schricker, 65, of Baker City and formerly of

La Grande, died Aug. 11 in Phoenix, Ariz.

A memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Agape Christian Center in Baker City. Pastor Garth Johnson will officiate. A reception will follow immediately at the church.

A viewing will run from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Coles Funeral Home. A graveside service begins at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Hillcrest East Cemetery in La Grande.

Richard worked for the U.S. Forest Service as the fire cache manager in La Grande.

Coles Funeral Home in Baker City is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Hospitalized Veterans or The Paralyzed Veterans in care of Coles Funeral Home, 1950 Place St., Baker City.


Loretta Foster, 67, of Enterprise, died Aug. 15 at her home. A funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Enterprise Cemetery. A dinner reception will follow at noon at the Enterprise VFW Hall. The public may attend. Bollman Funeral Home in Enterprise is in charge of arrangements.

Loretta was born Aug. 30, 1940, to Sarah and Elton Bayless in Prairie Grove, Alaska. She spent many years in Fresno, Calif., where she raised two daughters, Tammy Phipps and Kathy Phillips. In 1981, she married Donald Gene Foster of Enterprise. They spent 12 years working together in their family business — Foster Plumbing and Heating. They retired in 1991 and divided their time between Enterprise and Palm Desert, Calif.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed arts and crafts, fishing and playing bluegrass music with her husband in the Blue Mountain Old Time Fiddlers Association. Loretta was known as a generous person who helped anyone who needed it.

Loretta enjoyed spending time with her daughters; three step-children; 10 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
