Botham, Nunn


Aug. 20 — Robert J. Casey, celebration of life, 4 p.m., Buhler Ranch (Mount Joseph ranch), 61968 Ski Run Road

Gene Botham


Gene Botham, 82, of Cove, died Aug. 18 at a hospital in Boise. A full obituary will be available later. Loveland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

William Wayne Nunn

Formerly of La Grande


William Wayne Nunn, 89, formerly of La Grande, died May 31 at Mountain View Hospital in Madras. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. Aug. 27 at the Baptist church in Fossil.

He was born Sept. 13, 1921, to Joseph William Nunn and Pearl Ava Hooper Nunn in Nebraska. Wayne’s family moved to Oregon in the 1930s where he remained a life-long resident except for the time he served his country in the Army Air Corps during WWII.

Wayne has lived in Fossil since 1982. He moved there from La Grande where he retired from Boise Cascade Corp. He and his wife, Ruby, have worked for the Bureau of Land Management for many years.

Wayne was married to Jessie Gehrung in 1945. They had two sons, William “Bill” Wayne Jr. and Randy Nunn. Bill died in 2000. Randy lives in Longview, Wash., with his wife, Kimberly.

Wayne married Ruby Nunn in Nevada July 3, 1966, and brought her two daughters to the marriage. Maxine and her husband, Butch, live in Union; and Diane and Jerry live in Florence. Wayne is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
